John Anderson is an anchor on the network ESPN. Growing up, I used to watch Sports Center every morning before school, and he was one of the main personalities on the show. He has been with the show since 1999, and is now a very recognizable face. Gabriele Marcotti is an Italian journalist who covers soccer, or futbol. He has been featured on many different platforms throughout his career, such as ESPN, Sky Sports, and has a presence on Twitter. I used to watch Youtube clips from the show, ESPN FC, where he would frequently appear. He writes on all things in the soccer world, and is known to give important and current information. Taylor Twellman is a former American soccer player, who now writes and broadcasts in the United States. He has a strong presence on Twitter and appears on ESPN FC. He has been known to give heated deliveries when reporting on situations. Most notably, when the United States men’s team failed to qualify for the World Cup in 2018, Twellman’s rant went viral. Martin Tyler is one of the most famous soccer commentators in the world. He works for Sky Sports, and comments on games in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League. He is a very popular name in world soccer, as he has commentated on some of the biggest games in modern soccer. Julie Foudy was a professional soccer player in the United States, and once she retired she became a commentator and reporter for ESPN. Foudy is someone that I look up to because I think that her career path has been very impressive. She went from playing soccer to now still being around it even when she is retired. I believe that she is good for sports because we need more women like her to be in major roles in the media. When young girls see her commentating on a men’s game, it shows that it does not matter what gender you are, if you are good at your job you can open doors.
