Assignment 3
Minnesota Native Has Impressive Senior Volleyball Season
In her senior season at Pequot Lakes High School, Camille Human’s volleyball team saw great success. Her career ended just short of making it to state, as the team lost to the eventual state champions.
“It was a team we had lost to earlier in the season in three games, and then when we played them to go to state it was five games,” Human said, “The last game we lost by two points. The team we lost to ended up winning the state tournament, so that’s hard.”
Even though her team fell short of the ultimate goal, Human walked away from volleyball with individual accolades and left a stamp on her school’s history.
“I got an all-conference award and also academic all-state. I also got on the school leaderboard for most blocks in a single match.”
After completing high school, Human decided to pursue her higher education at North Dakota State University. She is currently a freshman at the school in Fargo.
While Human had a strong volleyball career in high school, including her team making it to state her sophomore year, she did not want to continue playing at the collegiate level.
“I felt like it would be too much of a commitment just because I wanted to really focus on school in college.” Said Human.
Although her playing career may be over, there is no better way to end than an impressive individual and team season. Human can go out knowing she left it all on the court.
1. Good start with the headline, but it needs to be a tad shorter. I would suggest "Minnesotan Has Impressive Senior Season" or something similar.
ReplyDelete2. Camille's last name is spelled Haman. Make sure to double check names.
3. I know it isn't directly relevant to the story, but Camille's major is missing.
4. . after said (Line 4)
5. The storytelling here is strong!
6. Haman said, not said Haman (Line 14)
You did a great job of telling Camille's story Josie. Make sure to double check that the name is spelled correctly, although I completely acknowledge it could have been an audio issue or something else. Otherwise, nicely done.
