Who- National Football League (NFL), Tua Tagovailoa

What- The NFL is facing backlash over how they deal with head injuries

When- October 3rd, 2022, as well as an ongoing issue that has faced the league for years

Where- Across the country, as teams are spread out all over

Why- Head injuries are one of the most common injuries that football players see, and there are questions regarding if the NFL is keeping their player’s safe

How- Tua Tagovailoa suffered a hit in a game that briefly put him on the sideline, where he was cleared to go back in the game. Then four days later, suffered another hit in a game that required him to be carted off the field, as there is a suspected brain injury.

So What- This is important because football is a dangerous sport. Players are going to get hurt, and it is every individual team and the league’s job to ensure they are keeping them safe. The main priority should be safety, and the league has to prioritize that over winning a game

What’s Next- The league and the players association will work together to update the protocols that go along with head injuries
