This article is about the parents of Houston Astros baseball player, Yordan Alvarez. His parents had not seen him play for six years, and they are now able to attend and watch him play regularly. In this article they used photos of Alvarez playing baseball and photos of his parents. What I liked about this article is how they took a major event going on right now, the World Series, and found a unique way to highlight the event and an individual player’s story. One thing I can take away from this is how many ways you can approach a story. It does not always have to be just stating the facts, there are many stories within a story.

This article is about how the Australian men’s national soccer team criticized Qatar, the upcoming World Cup hosts, on the poor treatment of migrant workers and the recognition of the LGBTQ community. This article contains a photo of the Australian team before a match. What I like about this article is how unbiased it is. This can be a topic that is sensitive for many people, but it is important to state the facts and not let opinions creep in. I think this is important to keep in mind when I am writing because you have to remain neutral unless you are writing an opinion story.

This article is about how the owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft, was featured in an ad aired during the team’s game on Sunday. The ad was encouraging people to stand up to anti-semitism, as there have been many incidents in recent weeks. This article featured a picture of Kraft, and a video explaining what happened with Kanye West and Adidas after he had made anti-semitic comments. One thing I like about this article is how it incorporates information that is connected to the main topic of the article, but could also be a separate story. The author doesn’t just talk about how Kraft was part of an ad aired during a football game, but they give context into what has been happening that led to this and what else is going on because of it.
